Bo####ks!!!!!

Driving down the high street at midday when there's a sudden bang from the engine bay :-S. I quickly stop her and turn her off but in my haste what i thought was enough room to get a car past may have been but a bus, no chance. Anyway jump out and open up the bays to see what's wrong, fearing the worst. All that happened was the generator belt had snapped. Not an immediate problem i thought as a bus pulled up behind me gesturing me to get out of the way. Jump in, turn on isolator, start engine or not start engine as the case was. Nothing! just silence and the voice of an angry bus driver... Jumping out and a quick re-inspection it seems as when the belt snapped it wiped out some loom going to a sensor on the gearbox and then wedged what was left of it in the cooling fan bearings. Out of pure chance my brain said twist the remains of the loom entering the bay together and see what happens... She started thank god so i carefully limped her home. All in all the day could have been better as I'm suspecting I'll have to pull the pack out but on the other hand I've learnt some new phrases to add to my vocabulary from the queue of traffic. lol

All the best, Charlie

just pulling onto our local RAF runway to park up beside a hawk trainer plane on a show day when it happened BANG from the j60 and it stopped dead
the worst bit was that i had to suffer for 4 hours till to show was over and the crowds gone wondering how i was going to get the sabre loaded a long no fun day
with luck she started on 5 cly and just made it on to the trailer
dropped a valve and i had to change the engine
always a risk when you take a cvrt out and nice to be driving them into the shed going
